Well, that was really something…
On a wintry Saturday morning, Jamie and the two Toms (Frog & Bright) huddled up at The Hawley Arms to prepare for the weekend ahead. Preparing to set up camp on Camden Market, they were armed with an array of JSF garments and Christmassy gifts.
By 1.30pm, the sounds were alive and kicking with Paul Redfern’s quirky covers of The Clash on his electric ukulele.
Swiftly after was an energetic set from Anton & The Colts, who had traveled down all the way from Glasgow especially to support, so massive kudos. With his harmonica soaring through the labyrinth that is Camden Market, he had them flocking towards the stall in droves and dancing in no time.
Davy Flats then dazzled with his social commentary songs, before Matthew One Man had the market under a trance with his mind-boggling guitar loops. JSF-favourite Shaun O’Reilly then closed day one with some sing-alongs, and before we knew it we’d sold a load of hoodies, t-shirts and denim jackets!
The feast of live music resumed on Sunday, with brilliant sets from Rob Marenghi, Blue Lily and Camden-local Sunny Gray, all doing their bit to aid the fundraising gift sales.
All in all, it was a superb event and we’d like to pay special thanks to Camden Market for donating the pitch, to everybody who bought some of our items, and the awesome artists for taking time out of their lives to help spread the word of our charity – make sure to click on the links in this post to learn more about them!
