The Joe Strummer Foundation is delighted to be able to once again help out our friends at the Avenue Youth Project in London.
The Avenues is a cornerstone of their community and their team continues to support young people and encourage them to explore their creativity. Their new ‘Mic Drop’ project will teach 24 young people the inns and outs of the music industry which can be incredibly difficult to navigate.
We are very proud to be associated with JSF and grateful for their contribution to our ‘Mic Drop’ programme which, over two years, will see 24 young people given a solid grounding in every aspect of the music industry in our newly refurbished music studio. From lyric writing to sound engineering, performance and marketing, this funding will help tap into some hidden potential in our young people, and pave the way for some successful careers in the music industry. – Carol Archibald, Programme Manager, The Avenues Youth Project
As well as enabling young people to explore arts and self-expression The Avenues Youth Project will most importantly educate & inform about the employment opportunities in the music industry, whilst earning an Arts Award along the way.
