Strummerville Scholarship Winer

L-R: Steve Mullen: Strummerville with Scholarship Winner Laurent Judson

It was always going to be hard to reach a decision on who the Strummerville Scholarship should go to, but in the end it was awarded to Laurent Judson, a very able guitarist and songwriter. He was quiet and reserved whilst setting up for the audition but as soon as he started playing his battered guitar and singing the sound that came out was incredible, there was no doubt in our minds about who should be awarded the scholarship.

Strummerville are honoured to be partnering with Tech Music School in offering the Strummerville Scholarship.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for young people to nurture their talent, to develop as musicians and to create amazing music. The team at TMS are very professional and highly committed to their cause and this is why Strummerville feel there is great potential for the partnership, we are looking forward to the future.” – Steve Mullen, Strummerville

“It was a great pleasure to play for the judges, I’m glad they enjoyed my music enough to help me through my studies by granting me the full scholarship. It means a great deal to me and I am very happy to have been awarded it, especially considering the talented musicians that were also performing to the judges in the live final. I’m very excited to start the course and meet some great musicians. I’d like to thank Strummervile for the scholarship and it’s great to be a part of a foundation that does really great things for music.” Laurent Judson

As the level of musicianship was so high Tech Music School very kindly offered 2nd and 3rd place prizes:

2nd prize: Michael Gates: 10 x 1 hour private lessons with a Tech Music School tutor of his choice.
3rd prize: Amanda Liedberg: 5 x 1 hour private lessons with a Tech Music School tutor of her choice.

“Tech Music School is thrilled to be working with Strummerville on this scholarship which provides financial support for a talented artist to study at the School. The standard of all of the Strummerville finalists was extremely high and our congratulations go to the winner, guitarist and songwriter Laurent Judson.” Andrew Bates. Principal. Tech Music School
