The Strummerville 40 Years of Punk Party-val took place at the Railway Tavern in Tulse Hill on June 4th 2016. The venue was perfect and we were overwhelmed by the amount of people who attended and made this one to remember.
With the help of Concrete PR, Red Stripe and Wray & Nephew we were able to put together a superb line up together which included acts from 1976 and 2016.
Check out all the amazing photos from the day on Brixton Buzz website.
Jack Laing the fantastic sound engineer who kept it all so tight said “it was such a good line up, the best i’ve been part of for sure.”
The Don who played a blinder, as standard said “Bringing people together for a collective experience is more important than ever in the digital age and no one does it better than Strummerville! Saturday nights gathering was definitely my kind of place – a superb mix of bands and bass.”
Life go on to add “The Strummerville event was a perfect example of why we love The Joe Strummer Foundation. Joe was the Daddy and it’s refreshing to see his legacy and spirit live on within an industry that has somewhat become beige! It was like stepping inside a festival full of the best people in grass roots music. A energised mosaic of awesome bods with one thing in mind… to dig real music and support tomorrow’s creators.”
Being passionate about DIY and underground community, LIFE are 100% behind the Foundation and what it represents. Its in our DNA. It’s important people are given a voice and empowered through music and that next generation get an opportunity to be counted in Joe’s legacy. Joe gave us a voice, lets make sure it’s never silenced.”
£777 Raised For Freedom From Torture
All of the proceeds raised from the event has been put towards the Freedom From Torture campaign, which we are currently raising much needed funds for.
